Fancy Food vs. Street Meat: The Real Problem With People
You know what gets me? People judging other people. "Oh, you like fancy food? You must be putting on airs." "You eat from a street vendor? You're too low-class for me." What's it to them?
That's what I call a clash of values. Real important stuff, you know?
That's the problem with trying to be friends with people who don't see the world the same way you do. It's not just about liking different things. It's about the way they think. Their experiences. The way they feel about stuff. It's all different.
It's like that saying: You look at the ocean and you see beauty, but some other knucklehead just says people drowned in it. What's the point? You can't even talk to them.
When your values don't line up, even arguing is pointless. You're not even arguing about the same thing! It's like talking to a brick wall. They don't get it, and they're never going to get it.
So what do you do? You can't force people to agree with you. And you shouldn't try. Some people are just… different.
The truth is, there are too many things in life that you can't choose that you are forced to deal with. So why choose to make life more difficult. If you ask me, better to just find people who see the world the same way you do, or who will keep their opinions to themselves. It's easier that way.
You know, people make such a big deal about finding the right partner in love, but it's probably more important to find friends who think like you.
