Take sexual misconduct: my impulse for gratification overpowers your bodily autonomy, so I steal your self-possession. Take lying: my need to manipulate reality strips you of your right to the truth, so I steal your freedom of informed choice. Even intoxication fits the pattern: when I drink to excess, my short-term craving for numbness overpowers my rational mind, so I effectively steal my own lucidity and endanger everyone around me.

Human history is fundamentally a grand museum of border heists. Our species is biologically wired to expand our territory and maximize our resources; deep in our evolutionary instincts, the urge to take what isn't ours is always whispering in the dark. We are creatures of profound self-deception, dressing up our relentless greed in the noble language of ambition, pretending that crossing other people's boundaries is just the cost of doing business.

The supreme irony of human ethics is that we spend fortunes building elaborate courtrooms and penal systems to punish crime, while missing the most basic definition right in front of us. Civilization isn't preserved by suppressing all human passion; it survives because we occasionally draw a sharp, uncompromising line where my freedom ends and your life begins. The next time you feel an overwhelming urge to grab more than your share, remember the anatomy of theft: desire fuels the engine, but greed steals the road.

看看殺生：我的野心或暴怒大於你的生存權利，於是我就盜竊了你的生命。看看偷盜：我的貪念大於你的勞動所得，於是我就盜竊了你的財產。看看邪淫：我的獸欲大於你的自主意願，於是我就盜竊了你的尊嚴與身體。看看妄語：我的私利大於你獲得真相的權利，於是我就盜竊了你的資訊自由。甚至連飲酒過量也是如此：那一刻，我對短暫快感的渴望戰勝了理智，於是我就盜竊了自己保持清醒與安全的能力。

人類歷史本質上就是一部「不斷試圖侵佔他人邊界」的掠奪史。我們的基因裡殘存著擴張領地與爭奪資源的本能；深植在演化深處的邏輯告訴我們，當慾望失去煞車時，跨越界線掠奪他人永遠是最省力的捷徑。我們這群擅長自我安慰的動物，總愛把無底洞般的貪婪包裝成進取心，一邊理直氣壯地踩過別人的屍體，一邊高喊著時代向前的口號。

我們這個時代最深刻的諷刺，莫過於人類花了大筆預算建立龐大的法律與監獄來懲治犯罪，卻常常忘了最核心的邊界就刻在心裡。文明往往不是靠著消滅所有慾望來維持，而是由那些懂得在「我的自由」與「你的邊界」之間踩煞車的清醒者所撐起。下次當你又被巨大的渴望沖昏頭時，想想這條簡單的紅線：慾望是推動你前行的風，但貪婪卻是伸手去偷別人世界的強盜。
