The Squash Court of Doom: Why Smart Idiots Are Speeding Up the End of the World
If you ever want to witness the exquisite, self-defeating comedy of human behavior, forget political satire and look straight at the global playground. Most of the time, people are both remarkably stupid and wonderfully wicked—and the foolish things they do invariably turn out to be deeply destructive.
Even when a genuinely smart person does something wicked, executing elaborate schemes to benefit themselves at everyone else's expense, do you really think they can escape the recoil? Absolutely not. The world is a finite arena. The sheer containment of human existence guarantees that everything is interconnected. If you commit a malicious act in one corner of the globe and scurry off to the opposite side to hide, you cannot escape the eventual feedback loop. Humanity is trapped inside a sealed squash court: whatever hard spin you put on the ball, and however hard you slam it against the walls, it will eventually ricochet and smack right back into the back of your own head.
What kind of wicked things do smart people love to do? They specialize in high-efficiency backstabbing, opportunistic free-riding, and master-level rule-bending. These tactics look like clever ways to secure short-term gains, but they undeniably inject a massive dose of entropy into the system. In thermodynamic terms, they are actively accelerating the universe toward heat death by maximizing disorder. Since living organisms survive by maintaining an internal negative entropy balance against a decaying world, driving up global entropy means systematically destroying the very conditions that keep us alive. Therefore, every clever act of systemic sabotage is nothing more than a high-IQ suicide note.
The foolish blindly accelerate our destruction, while the brilliant consciously optimize it. Either way, humanity is just a collection of toddlers playing with matches inside a fireworks factory.
