First, there's "loyalty." You gotta be loyal. Loyal like a dog. Loyal like a... a guy who owes us a lot of money. And remember the "Omertà." That's Italian for "Keep your mouth shut." You ever see a talking parrot in this organization? No? There's a reason for that. Let's just say the parrot had a... career change.

Then we got the "chain of command." That's like the phone company, only instead of bad customer service, we offer... persuasive incentives for following orders. Disobey? Well, let's just say you might find yourself in a position that's slightly less comfortable than your current one.

And about territories... Think of it like Monopoly, only instead of fake money, we use... uh... slightly less fake money. Don't go messing around where you don't belong. We have people who are very good at real estate disputes.

Now, about "profit." That's what we're all about, right? Generating revenue. Helping the community... invest in its future. You get the idea. Just remember, a slice of the pie goes to the guys at the top. Skimming? That's like trying to steal candy from a baby... a baby with a very large and unpleasant uncle.

Violence? We're not big fans. Really. We're more into... peaceful conflict resolution. But sometimes... things happen. Just make sure you get permission first. We don't want any "collateral damage." Bad for business, you know? Messy.

Oh, and "codes of honor." Important stuff. Treat your family well. Keep your word. Be a good... community organizer.

So, I'm at this "institute of higher learning," which, judging by the tuition, should be made of solid gold. And they're teaching these kids... principles. Principles! What are we, the Founding Fathers? I thought we were here to learn how to get a job!

They tell you, "Work in Process, you gotta control it!" Like I'm suddenly a CEO of a widget factory. What they don't tell you is whether that means you can sneak in an extra coffee break or two, or if it means you gotta pretend to look busy when the boss walks by. The Devil's in the details, and these 'educators' are allergic to details.

It's like, they show you a map of France, but they don't tell you where the best croissants are. Completely useless!

Then you got "training." Now that's more like it. Training is when somebody actually shows you how to do something. Like, "If the printer jams, THEN kick it twice. ELSE, blame the intern." Concrete! Actionable! I understand that.

This guy's saying, "Look, we ain't got time for philosophy here. We got production quotas to meet! We need IF-THEN statements! If the customer calls, THEN tell them the order is 'on schedule,' even if it's buried under a mountain of paperwork!"

It's all about the rules, people! We can't measure compliance to principles, I tried it once and got an F. It's like trying to nail jelly to a wall. You can't. But rules? You can automate that. You can measure that. You can even bribe someone to comply with that.

So, if you're looking to learn something useful, forget the fancy lectures and the long words. Find somebody who's actually done it. Someone who knows the secret rules. Someone who can tell you exactly what to do when the boss yells at you for not meeting the quota. That's the education we really need.

(takes a large bite of his sandwich.)

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to figure out the IF-THEN rules for getting a raise. My principle is to get more money. The implementation is the tricky part. I need a training course, stat!

縱使專家，亦難解此惑，蓋其答常曰：「視情況而定。」

反之，練者，師不僅授生徒以通則，更授以適其環境之具體規則或應用。

師承擔大部分之難事，分享精確之「若…則…否則…」之規則，使生徒得以學、得以用，並可問「若何…？」之問題，直至精熟。

練之速，成功率高，蓋其免去新手之猜測與轉化之難。若生徒能用模擬或數字孿生(digital twin)，以比較規則或求最佳規則參數設定，則更佳。

若欲速提升己身之績效，則無暇於教。需練也。

若事關重大，當尋於汝等環境相似之境中，有實踐經驗之名師。彼等將知當授、當行、甚至當自動化之具體規則。

切記，吾等不可行或量度對通則之遵從，唯可行、自動化、量度對規則之遵從。

為明辨教育與訓練之別，可問曰：「性教育與性訓練之異，可謂昭然若揭乎？」

1. Enforcing Loyalty and Omertà

• Monitor your men closely—trust is earned, not given.
• Use fear and rewards in equal measure. Those who perform well should be compensated; those who fail should be made an example of.
• Anyone caught violating Omertà must be dealt with immediately and without hesitation.

2. Maintaining Hierarchy and Discipline

• Reinforce the chain of command at all times. Disobedience is contagious—stamp it out early.
• Minor infractions warrant reprimands or financial penalties; serious infractions may require physical discipline.
• Challenge to authority is unacceptable—those who defy leadership must be eliminated.

3. Commanding Respect

• You must command respect through fear, competence, and decisiveness.
• Never tolerate insubordination; a leader who is questioned openly is a weak leader.
• Rituals, formalities, and displays of power help reinforce your position.

4. Managing Territory

• Control over territory means control over resources and revenue streams.

• Every soldier must generate revenue. Ensure their operations are running efficiently and without interference.
• Keep a close eye on financial records—embezzlement is a cancer that must be removed immediately.
• Profits must flow upward—always take your cut, and ensure leadership above you gets theirs.

6. The Strategic Use of Violence

• Violence must be controlled and deliberate. Reckless violence attracts attention and destabilizes operations.
• Ensure enforcers are disciplined and act only on approved orders.
• Political connections and law enforcement bribery can minimize unwanted consequences of necessary violence.
