Nobody's Watching, Nobody Remembers (So Relax a Little)

Nobody's Watching, Nobody Remembers (So Relax a Little)

You know, I've been thinking about life. And death. And what it all means. And frankly, I'm not sure it means much of anything.

You spend your whole life worrying about what other people think. Worrying about making a good impression. Worrying about whether you're doing things right. But you know what? Most of the time, nobody's even paying attention.

You go to work, you come home, you watch TV. Day after day, year after year. And you think people are watching. You think they're judging. But they're not. They're too busy worrying about their own lives to worry about yours.

And when you're gone? Well, let's be honest, not many people are going to remember you. Maybe your family. Maybe a few close friends. But after a few years, even they'll start to forget the little things. The way you used to laugh. The stories you used to tell. The things that made you... you.

So what's the point of all the worrying? All the stress? All the trying to be perfect? It's a waste of time. It really is.

And all this pain people talk about? Most of it is just in your head. It's about what you think is important. It's about your values, your expectations. It's not real, not like a broken leg or a bad case of the flu. You're making yourself miserable over things that don't even matter.

I'm not saying life is easy. It's not. But maybe, just maybe, if you stopped worrying so much about what other people think, and focused on what actually makes you happy, you'd be a little better off. After all, nobody's watching, and nobody's going to remember anyway. So what have you got to lose? Except maybe a little bit of unnecessary pain. And you know, nobody likes pain. Except maybe dentists.

The thing is, it sounds nice to say you are in charge of your own life, but are you?
