動物農莊中,獨裁者的五個手段》

 《動物農莊中,獨裁者的五個手段》


〈動物農莊〉講述一個農莊裡,動物們合力革命,趕走了原主人鍾斯,自己當家作主。智力較高的兩隻豬 — 雪球和拿破崙,成為了領袖。及後拿破崙趕走了雪球,開始起獨裁之路,使動物們苦不堪言。故事結束時,拿破崙摸著酒杯底,與其他農莊的主人(人類)大談管理低等動物之道...

動物農莊雖然是七十年前的作品,原意是諷刺蘇聯的史太林,但想不到今日仍然適用。獨裁者的手段,一直沒變。在此歸納出書中,獨裁者的五個手段:

〈一、培養惡犬〉
拿破崙有一隊惡犬護衛,負責處決異見人士。每逢會議時,牠手下九條大狗會在身邊蹦跳並不時吼叫,嚇得動物們背脊發抖,令大家安靜地縮在自己的位置上,不敢異議。任何被拿破崙指控犯罪的,皆被這些忠心的*執法*者當場處死。

〈二、僭建條文〉
起初革命成功時,所有動物曾共同制定七條誡命,為確保全部動物一律平等,不會變得像人類般墮落,欺壓其他動物。

七誡如下:
1、兩條腿行走的,皆為敵人;
2、四肢行走或長翅膀的,皆為朋友;
3、任何動物不得穿衣;
4、任何動物不得睡在床上;
5、任何動物不得飲酒;
6、任何動物不得傷害其他動物;
7、所有動物一律平等。

但拿破崙每次違犯了誡命後,就命人修改和僭建七誡,例如「不得飲酒」被修改成「不得飲酒過量」、「不得傷害其他動物」被改成「不得無故傷害其他動物」等。由於許多動物不識字,*法律*被僭建了也不知道,只懂得相信現時的版本。

〈三、散佈歪理〉
每當眾人對拿破崙的決策有質疑時,牠的*傳媒*喉舌—尖叫者(也是豬)便出來解話,以歪理支持領袖所做的有正當性。例如豬常為農莊未來思考,因此值得擁有更多食物;調查中發現某某動物犯法,勾結其他農莊,因此要判死刑等。沒能力分辨的動物往往信以為真,誤以為拿破崙的決策是合理的。

〈四、帶動風向〉
當去到一些群情洶湧,動物們想集體反對拿破崙的時刻,羊咩們便會重覆無意義的說話,如「四隻腳是好,兩隻腳是壞」,一直打亂會議,帶動風向,直到無法繼續討論為止。羊咩混入*群眾*,跟隨尖叫者的指示說話,大後期更改成「四隻腳是好,兩隻腳更好」來支持豬應該站起來。

〈五、篡改歷史〉
為了穩固拿破崙的領袖地位和壓下反抗聲音,尖叫者會將歷史中的黑白倒轉:邪惡的事都推給雪球(被趕走的前領袖),英雄事蹟全歸拿破崙。牠們特別開設學校來*教育*下一代「正確」的歷史。隨著上一代記憶漸漸模糊,謊言最終取代了真相。
